A WhatsApp booking bot for salons in Kenya

In Nairobi and across Kenya, clients book their braids, nails and cuts on WhatsApp. The trouble is that the stylist is the one who answers, between clients, with wet hands. A booking bot answers for you: prices, free times, the booking itself and a reminder the day before.

How booking works in most salons today

A client asks “how much for knotless braids, are you free Saturday?” The owner sees it an hour later, replies with a price, the client asks about a time, and by evening the slot has gone to someone else, or two clients turn up for the same chair. The ones who booked forget, and nobody reminds them.

None of that is about the quality of your work. It is about who answers first.

What a WhatsApp booking bot handles

  • Prices for every service, with how long each one takes, the moment a client asks.
  • Your opening hours, so a 1am message still gets a real answer.
  • Bookings only into times you are actually free, so no double booking.
  • A reminder the day before, which is what cuts no-shows.
  • Rescheduling and cancelling when a client asks, without you in the middle.
  • Your M-Pesa Till or Paybill shared once a booking is made, if you take payment ahead, with you confirming the payment.
  • Anything personal, a complaint or a special request goes straight to you.

What it looks like for your client

Customer: Hi, how much ni knotless braids medium? Uko free Saturday?

Shop: Hi Wanjiru! Knotless braids medium ni KSh 3,500 and take about 4 hours. Saturday we have 9am or 1pm free. Which one works for you?

Customer: 9am

Shop: Done, you are booked for knotless braids medium on Saturday at 9am. I will remind you on Friday. See you then!

Every reply comes from the salon’s own price list and calendar. The prices and times above are an example.

Set it up for your salon

  1. Create your salon on GetOrda. It is free to start and needs no card.
  2. List your services with prices in KSh and how long each takes: braids, cornrows, wash and set, nails, cuts and shaves.
  3. Set your opening hours and block any time you are away.
  4. Link the WhatsApp number your clients already use, with a code from your phone, the way you open WhatsApp Web.
  5. Put your booking link, yoursalon.getorda.store, on your WhatsApp status and in your Instagram bio, so clients can see prices and book there too.

You keep replying from your phone whenever you want, and every booking appears in your calendar in the dashboard.

Questions

Does it reply in Swahili?

Yes. It replies in the language the client writes in, English, Swahili or a mix, and understands voice notes.

Can clients pay a deposit by M-Pesa?

Clients pay your Till or Paybill directly. GetOrda shares it once the booking is made, and you confirm the payment yourself. GetOrda never handles your money.

What if a client wants a stylist or a style you do not offer?

It answers from your own service list and never promises what you do not offer. Special requests come to you with the whole chat ready.

Does it work for barbers and spas too?

Yes. Anyone who sells appointments sets it up the same way. See GetOrda for salons, barbers and spas.
